Sixth Sense
This is a revolutionary computer interface based on both a portable camera and a projector, worn by the user (e.g. hanging as a necklace). The camera allows the usage of computer vision to interpret the gestures of the user, and in turn the projector is the output modality, displaying any information required in the surface in front of the user. I think it is a very relevant piece of work towards real ubiquitous computing systems, since the interaction it allows is in many cases much simpler and seamless than for example taking your smartphone out of your pocket.
Digital Water Pavilion
(Project from 7:30 in the video) This is a building which walls are made of falling water. They can be controlled and hence patterns can be drawn, including doors upon sensing of people, etc. All the sensors and actuators lie in the roof, which can be brought down to ground level, effectively transforming the entire "building" in a fountain. This project likely required strong efforts in architecture, design, engineering (hydraulics, control, etc.), the water pattern generation system being the most notable sub-system IMHO. I think it explores a very interesting perspective on what we consider as buildings, the walls being dynamically made out of water, and quite beautifully at that.
