Resinance experiments with material, trying to create a smart material that is able to respond to human touch. The project is made of of module units, each of which has an actuator that allows the module to shiver and vibrate. They are made up of polyester resin enhanced with thermochromatic pigments. Each module contains water, a change in water temperature allows the module to change color.
I think this project is very interesting because it opens huge possibilities for responsive spaces that are able to adapt to our needs and respond to human interaction. It's a much more organic material.
This project is an adaptation of traditional vinyl records. A small electric car traverses a black line and reads the colors overlaying the line, then translates them to music. I was drawn to this project because of its simple and minimal design. It's also interesting because its highly engaging. The audience plays a primary role in the project. They need to color the canvas to create music. The technological aspect of the project is just a tool, it seems to step back and allow the audience to create colors and music. Finally, I like the play between senses Yuri creates, with the visual colors generating music.
